Folding shutter having movable slats of the type comprising a vertical panel consisting of slats, two slide channels made on the surfaces of the window opening that is to be protected, to give lateral guidance to the slats of said panel, a box at the top taking the slats when they are in the open position, and a means of control, this shutter being characterised in that the slats (10) forming said panel are independent of each other and are equipped at their ends with slat-holders provided with means which on the one hand enable the panel to be guided in the lateral slide channels, and on the other hand enable the slats to draw each other whether on the way up or on the way down, and in that the means of control (42 - 56 - 58) act on the bottom slat (40), termed the master slat, which slat, as the panel is raised, interacts with means (34) which keep the slats all horizontal, and provide the extra weight needed to unroll the slats properly out of the box (12) as the panel descends. <IMAGE>

Volets pliants à lames mobiles du type comprenant un tablier vertical constitué de lames, deux glissières ménagées sur les parements de la baie à protéger, pour assurer la guidage latéral des lames dudit tablier, un coffret recevant, en partie haute, les lames lorsqu'elles sont en position d'ouverture, et un moyen de commande, ces volets étant caractérisés en ce que les lames (10) constituant ledit tablier sont indépendantes les unes des autres et sont munies, à leurs extrémités, de porte-lames pourvus de moyens permettant d'assurer, d'une part, le guidage du tablier dans les glissières latérales, et, d'autre part, l'entraînement des lamens les unes par les autres soit à la montée, soit à la descente, et en ce que les moyens de commande (42 - 56 - 58) agissent sur la lame inférieure (40), appelée lame maîtresse, celle-ci, lors de la montée du tablier, venant coopérer avec des moyens (34) assurant, l'horizontalité de l'ensemble des lames et, le supplément de poids nécessaire au bon déploiement des lames hors du coffre (12), lors de la descente.
