[origin: EP0063206A2] 1. Clamping contact of an electrical connector, having two contact tonques (13) arranged adjacent to each other, which form a slot (15) between them for the contacting clamping of a conductor, are cut out of the base (5) of the electrical connector, are bent approximately at right angles to the base (5), and abut at the sides against lateral walls (7) of the connector, the slot (15) being slightly narrower than the bare conductor and the contact edges (17) being sharp in order to cut into the insulation of an insulated conductor which is pressed into the slot (15), and a widening being provided in the insertion region of the slot (15), characterised in that the slot (15) which extends between the contact tongues (13) becomes a cut-away portion (14) in the base (5).
