[origin: WO8203642A1] The method is used for the supply of different color yarns (a to d) to a conventional knitting machine (1) for manufacturing striped articles. Yarn sections of one or a plurality of colors are first selected in relation to the desired striped pattern. The selected yarn sections are assembled into a continuous yarn (7). Then, a reserve of assembled sections is intermittently formed, wherefrom the knitting machine (1) is continuously supplied at a speed synchronized with the operating speed of the knitting machine. The continuous yarn is brought to the knitting members (3) of the machine. The different sections are assembled into a continuous yarn in a synchronous mode with the operation speed of the knitting machine (1) so that the reserving of the yarn corresponds to the supply speed of the knitting machine. The joints between the different sections may be arranged with a high precision so as to be at the same location (1b) of the needle support (1a) at each rotation of the machine.
