Abstract (en)

[origin: US4480865A] A device for grasping and transporting objects exhibiting at least one pair of flexible pads for grasping an object, said pads mounted facing one another on a common support which is movable relative to the object to be grasped. The pads are inflatable toward one another in such a manner as to maintain an interval between themselves in their non-inflated state slightly greater than the distance separating the two opposing faces of the object or of a relief part of the object, and to clamp the faces of the object between themselves when inflated.

Dispostif de préhension et de transport de pièces comprenant, pour saisir une pièce, au moins une paire de pastilles souples (6) montées face à face sur un support commun (2) mobile par rapport à la pièce à saisir en étant gonflables l'une en direction de l'autre de manière à laisser subsister entre elles, à l'état non gonflé, un intervalle légèrement supérieur à la distance séparant deux faces opposées de la pièce ou d'une partie en relief (4) de la pièce, et à serrer lesdites faces entre elles à l'état gonflé. Application: notamment à la préhension de noyaux de fonderie en sable dans la boîte à noyaux et à l'ébavurage des noyaux pour la coulée de pièces de sécurité pour véhicules automobile.
