Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0064214A1] 1. A device for measuring the load on piles of a self-raising platform (1), said platform (1) comprising a plurality of mobile units (5) with drive gears (6) which mesh with racks (4) integral with the piles (2), said mobile units (5) each having at least one upper support structure (9) bearing on beams (3) which are integral with the platform (1) when the piles (2) rest on the bottom and said platform (1) is raised above the water, characterized in that it includes, between each upper support structure (9) and the associated beam (3), a hydraulic cushion (11) inserted in housing means (12) guided by guide means (13), the housing means (12) and the guide means (13) being integral with the beam (3) and with said upper support structure (9) respectively and being disposed so as to allow the pile (2) to assume a slightly inclined position relative to the platform (1), and in that the hydraulic cushions (11) associated with all the upper support structures (9) of the moving units (5) of a pile are interconnected on the one hand and connected on the other hand to means (20) which are sensitive to the pressure of the fluid inside the cushions (11) and said means displaying a magnitude which is representative of the load on the pile (2) in question.
