[origin: WO8201718A1] An improved energy-saving fuel additive for diesel engines and gasoline engines which comprises separate compositions which raise the flash point from about 6` to 29`C. In the case of the diesel additive, the following formulation is preferred: Elemental iron .01%, Methyl isobutyl ketone 5.0%, Picric acid 1.5% Normal butyl alcohol 20.0%, Kerosene 73.0%, Nitrobenzene .08%, Primene 81R .05%. The composition of the agent for gasoline to high flash point is somewhat different and may be noted as follows: Copper cabonate hydroxide .02%, Methyl isobutyl ketone 5.0%, Normal butyl alcohol 20.0%, Kerosene 73.0%, Picric acid 1.5%, Nitrobenzene .08%, Primene 81R .05%.

Additif ameliore de combustible d'economie d'energie pour des moteurs a reaction, des moteurs a essence et des moteurs diesel, comprenant des additions aux huiles de chauffage domestique et aux huiles legeres industrielles (No. 2 et No. 3) et au combustible residuel ou de soute (No. 4, No. 5, et No. 6), comprenant comme ingredients actifs un melange catalytique d'une grande proportion d'acide picrique et d'une petite proportion de sulfate cuivrique. Sulfate cuivrique: 0,01 - 0,03%; acide picrique: 1 - 2%; methanol: 35 - 50%; alcool d'isopropyle: 15 - 5%; toluene: 43 - 48%; nitrobenzene: 0,6 - 1,0%; primene 81R: 0,5 - 1,0%. Des variations supplementaires comprennent (1) le remplacement du toluene avec environ 10% de methanol et 90% d'alcool d'isopropyle pour des raisons de toxicite et (2) le remplacement du toluene avec 10% de methanol, 45% d'alcool d'isopropyle, et 45% de kerozene comme facteur de reduction des couts. Un additif preferentiel consiste en : sulfate cuivrique: 0,02%; acide picrique: 1,54%; methanol: 35%; alcool d'isopropyle: 15%; toluene: 48, 3%; nitrobenzene: 0,8%; primene 81R: 0,05%.
