The invention relates to a coupling case, consisting of two connector cases, which are plugged together, the connector cases being fitted with connectors butting onto electrical conductors, which connectors are in each case housed in chambers, potential-sealing of adjacent contacts being provided. The potential sealing is ensured in that capillary force interrupting spaces are arranged in the mutually opposing surfaces of the walls of a contact chamber, in the plug shaft of the coupling case, in the direction of the adjacent chamber. In addition, labyrinth sealing elements can be provided in the plug shaft of the coupling case in the direction of the adjacent chamber. The capillary interrupting hollow spaces are arranged primarily in the region of the free end edges of the halves of the case. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Kupplungsgehäuse, bestehend aus zwei zusammengesteckten Verbindergehäusen, wobei die Verbindergehäuse mit an elektrischen Leitern angeschlagenen Verbindern bestückt sind, die jeweils in Kammern untergebracht sind, wobei eine Potentialabdichtung benachbarter Kontakte vorgesehen ist. Die Potentialabdichtung wird dadurch gewährleistet, daß in den sich gegenüberliegenden Oberflächen der Wandungen einer Kontaktkammer im Steckschacht des Kupplungsgehäuses in Richtung auf die benachbarte Kammer kapillarkraftbrechende Räume angeordnet sind. Zudem können im Steckschacht des Kupplungsgehäuses in Richtung auf die benachbarte Kammer Labyrinthdichtungselemente vorgesehen sein. Die kapillarbrechenden Hohlräume sind vornehmlich im Bereich der freien Endkanten der Gehäusehälften angeordnet.
