Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0065254A2] A grinding machine (1) (Fig. 2) for grinding, for example, organic waste in gardening and agriculture, has a flywheel (2) with striking pins (3) protruding at its top and running through a fixed comb (4) provided with corresponding gaps. The striking pins (3) are arranged on the flywheel (2) in an approximate spiral so that not all the bolts (3) run into comb gaps (6) at the same time. The number of striking pins and also their mounting points as well as the associated comb (4) can be changed according to the material to be ground. The flywheel (2) can be driven by a comparatively small motor (25) because, on the one hand, a high moment of inertia is thus available by means of which even loads which are briefly higher during grinding of relatively hard or relatively strong materials can be overcome. In addition, a staggering in time of the respective loading is present as a result of the arrangement in a spiral of the rows of striking pins. <IMAGE>
