Formylcyanonorbornane is prepared by hydroformylating cyanonorbornene with an H2/CO gas mixture in a (molar) ratio of H2:CO of higher than 1, preferably from approx. 1.5 to 5, in particular from approx. 1.5 to 3. The process is highly selective and yields are high. The process product formylcyanonorbornane is mainly an intermediate in various fields of application such as, for example, in the polymer sector.

Formylcyannorbornan wird hergestellt durch Hydroformylierung von Cyannorbornen mit einem H2/CO-Gasgemisch eines (Mol)-Verhältnisses von H2:CO von grösser als 1, vorzugsweise von etwa 1,5 bis 5, insbesondere von etwa 1,5 bis 3. Das Verfahren arbeitet mit hoher Selektivität und Ausbeute. Das Verfahrensprodukt Formylcyannorbornan ist hauptsächlich Zwischenprodukt auf verschiedenen Sachgebieten wie z.B. auf dem Polymerensektor.
