[origin: WO8201913A1] In a two-cycle internal combustion engine wherein the air inlet ports (40, 43) are opened and closed directly by the reciprocating movement of the piston (12), and the exhaust ports are controlled by mechanically operated valves (19), the crankshaft (24) is laterally offset from the central plane common to the longitudinal axes of all the cylinders (10). This results in a substantial increase in the power output of the engine.

Dans un moteur a combustion interne a deux temps ou les lumieres d'admission d'air (40, 43) sont ouvertes et fermees directement par le mouvement alternatif du piston (12), et les lumieres d'echappement sont commandees par des soupapes a fonctionnement mecanique (19), le vilebrequin (24) est decale lateralement par rapport au plan median commun aux axes longitudinaux de tous les cylindres (10). Ceci se traduit par une augmentation sensible de la puissance du moteur.
