Chimney having at least one inner pipe (1), an outer casing block (5) and a heat insulation arranged between the casing block (5) and the inner pipe (1), in the form of an insulating shell (3). The insulating shell (3) surrounds the inner pipe (1) snugly. The insulating shell (3) can be designed as a full shell or as half-shells (6) and (7). Kamin mit mindestens einem Innenrohrstrang (1), einem äußeren Mantelstein (5) und einer zwischen dem Mantelstein (5) und dem Innenrohrstrang (1) als Dämmschale (3) angeordneten Wärmeisolierung. Die Dämmschale (3) umgibt den Innenrohrstrang (1) passend. Die Dämmschale (3) kann als Vollschale oder als Halbschalen (6) und (7) ausgebildet sein. Zwischen dem Mantelstein (5) und der Dämmschale (3) kann ein Radialspiel (4) bestehen.
