[origin: US4374234A] Small amounts of an aluminum alkyl or a dihydrocarbylmagnesium compound are used in slurry olefin polymerization employing a silica supported chromium catalyst in order to reduce the induction period and increase catalyst activity while having only a modest effect on polymer properties.
