[origin: EP0066361A2] A nickel-based alloy which has high strength and which is resistant to hydrogen embrittlement and chloride stress corrosion cracking is provided. The alloy contains 15-22% chromium, 10-28% iron, 6-9% molybdenum, 2.5 to 5% niobium, 1-2% titanium and up to 1% aluminium. Wrought products made from the alloy are useful in deep oil or gas wells for example for petroleum production tubing, and in sulphur dioxide gas scrubbers.
