[origin: US4432396A] The casting tube is constituted by a mixture of refractory particles and fibers embedded in a binder which is not capable of withstanding the temperature attained when liquid metal flows within the tube. The refractory particles are sinterable in a tube zone which is directly exposed to the heat of the liquid metal. At least in a zone which is not directly exposed to the heat of the liquid metal, the casting tube also contains a refractory binder which is capable of withstanding the heat in this zone.

Le tube (4) est constitué par un mélange de particules réfractaires et de fibres enrobées dans un liant qui ne résiste pas à la température à laquelle est porté le tube lors du passage du métal liquide en son intérieur. Les particules réfractaires sont frittables dans une zone du tube directement exposée à la chaleur du métal liquide. Le tube (4) renferme en outre, au moins dans une zone (4a) qui n'est pas directement exposée à la chaleur du métal liquide, un liant réfractaire résistant à cette chaleur. Utilisation notamment pour transvaser le métal liquide d'une poche de coulée vers un répartiteur de coulée.
