Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0067277A2] 1. Apparatus for dehydrating and drying crushed synthetic material waste, having arranged in an oblong housing (1) a rotor (10) with material guide- and air suction arrangements distributed over the circumference of the rotor and staggered in the longitudinal direction of the rotor, and having inside the housing (1) a strainer basket (4) which encloses the rotor (10) with a space inbetween and which forms with the outside diameter of the rotor an annular gap, the synthetic material waste being conveyable inside the annular gap through the action of rotor rotation from one end of the housing having a bulk material inlet (8) to the other end of the housing having a bulk material outlet (9), and having an arrangement for supplying air to the annular gap for drying the synthetic material waste, characterised in that over approximately 2/3 of the length of that portion of the apparatus which faces the material delivery the upper region of the strainer basket (4) ist provided with several openings (17) to which in order to form the air supply arrangement there is connected in each case an air intake (6, 6a, 6b, 6c) which passes through the housing (1), and in that there is associated with each air intake (6, 6a, 6b, 6c) an air outlet (13) arranged in the housing (1) outside the strainer basket (4).
