[origin: US4498274A] A tear strip is caused to move synchronously with a moving web of packaging material and the web and strip are brought into contact for subsequent joining to define a packaging material with integral tear strip. Contact between the packaging material and tear strip is effected at the surface of a rotating feed roller and a friction drive is employed to cause a supply reel for the tear strip to rotate synchronously with the feed roller.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Zu- und Zusammenführen einer Verpackungsmaterialbahn (11), beispielsweise Zellglas, und einer Aufreißfadenbahn (13), beispielsweise aus einem gefärbten Kunststoffmaterialstreifen, die jeweils von einer Bobine (12) abgewickelt und auf einer Vorzugswalze (10) zusammengeführt werden. Um ein synchrones Fördern beider Bahnen (11, 13), die später miteinander verbunden werden, zu erreichen, ist zwischen der Vorzugswalze (10) und der Bobine (12) für die Aufreißfadenbahn (13) ein Treibrad (22) angeordnet, das in Reibeingriff mit der Vorzugswalze (10) und dem äußeren Umfang der Bobine (12) für die Aufreißfadenbahn (13) gehalten ist. Die Vorrichtung ist beispielsweise beim Umhüllen einer Zigarettenpackung oder ähnlichen Schachteln mittels Zellglas verwendbar.
