A zero insertion force connector for a printed circuit card (130), comprising a connector body constituted by an U-section slideway (100) closed by a base (140) and equipped with a longitudinal slot (110) for the insertion of the card a plurality of contacts (120) presenting first end portions (121) fixed, opposite to the slot, on said connector body base, called contact-bearing strip, and second end portions (124) destined to come into contact with the card and extending substantially over the length of the slot according to at least one rank, and comprising means for the simultaneous control either of opening or of closing of said contacts, these means being housed in the connector body and being constituted by a rotatably mounted shaft (150) of general cylindrical form and presenting essentially two opposite longitudinal flat surfaces (154) against which respective intermediate portions (125) of said contacts are applied for their opening or closing by simple rotation of the shaft, characterized in that the two branches of the slideway (100) are internally connected by a plurality of partitions (104) each presenting a first rectangular notch defining, over the length of the connector, the depth of said longitudinal slot (110).
