A pallet for materials handling consists of an upper cover plate which is sepd. by distance blocks from a lower cover plate with openings for the wheels. The lower cover plate consists at least partly of a material with a higher flexural strength than the upper cover plate. Suitable materials for the upper cover plate and the distance blocks are polypropylene injection mouldings and for the lower cover plate polypropylene reinforced with endless or chopped glass fibres. The greater strength of the lower cover plate makes it possible to reduce the thickness of the upper cover plate, although both use the same basic material.

Für eine zus Kunststoff hergestellte Palette, die im wesentlichen aus einer oberen Deckplatte und einer unteren Deckplatte besteht, welche durch Distanzklötze voneinander getrennt sind, wird vorgeschlagen, für die untere Deckplatte ein Material zu verwenden, das eine höhere Biegefestigkeit besitzt als das Material der oberen Deckplatte. Trotz der höheren Biegefestigkeit der unteren Deckplatte, die beispielsweise durch eine Glasfaserverstärkung oder eine Metallarmierung erzielbar ist, lassen sich im übrigen beide Deckplatten aus gleichem Kunststoff herstellen. Ein besonderer Vorteil der erfindungsgemässen Palette besteht darin, dass durch die grössere Biegefestigkeit der unteren Deckplatte die Dikke der oberen Deckplatte geringer sein kann, wodurch sich neben einer bedeutenden Materialeinsparung auch eine Lagerraumeinsparung erzielen lässt.
