[origin: US4521196A] In a training unit for aiming at fictitious targets as applicable in particular to a firing simulator, provision is made for an optical sighting device in which the line of sight from reticle image to target is orientable at least at the start of a fictitious-firing event. Target signals define successive images of a fictitious target as a function of the shape and continuous relative displacement of the target at least in distance from the training unit and/or in angular position with respect to the line of sight. Each successive target image is formed by means of a luminous point moving on a screen, the successive images thus formed being projected in the field of view of the sighting device.

Procédé de formation d'une cible fictive, dans un appareil d'entraînement au pointage de cibles, notamment dans un simulateur de tir, comportant un appareil de visée optique à axe de visée orientable au moins au départ d'un tir fictif, procédé caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste essentiellement à produire des signaux de cible définissant des images successives d'une cible fictive en fonction de sa forme et de son évolution, au moins en distance de l'appareil et/ou en position angulaire par rapport à l'axe de visée, à constituer chacune des images successives de cible ainsi définies par un point lumineux mobile sur un écran (11), et à projeter les images successives ainsi constituées dans le champ d'observation de l'appareil de visée.
