[origin: US4508298A] The invention has as its goal a device for extremely precise localization of a train circulating on a railway, and necessitating no complex circuit on the ground. According to the invention, the apparatus comprises, on board the train and in front of its first axle, at least one tuned emitter fixed at an electromagnetic radio frequency, and a receiver provided with two detectors. On the ground, a passive loop tuned to the frequency used, is disposed between the two rails of the track, with the detectors and emitter being disposed in such a manner that there is not direct induction between them.

L'invention a pour but un dispositif de localisation extrêmement précise d'un train circulant sur une voie ferrée et ne nécessitant aucun circuit complexe au sol. Selon l'invention, le dispositif comprend, à bord du train (5) et en avant du premier essieu de ce dernier, au moins un émetteur (6) à accord fixe sur une fréquence radio-électrique et un récepteur pourvu de deux capteurs (7, 8). Au sol, une boucle passive (1) accordée sur la fréquence utilisée, est disposée entre les deux files de rails (2, 3). Capteurs (7, 8) et émetteur 6 sont disposés de manière à ce qu'il n'y ait aucune induction directe entre eux. Application à la conduite automatique des trains.
