Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0068956A1] 1. A circuit breaker with fuse holder therein, of the kind comprising, in a body (10), on the one hand, a member (11) referred to as a fuse holder which has a recess (13) for housing a cartridge fuse and which is mounted rotatably in said body (10) between a closed position in which said cartridge fuse makes an electrical connection between two contacts (17A, 17B) interposed between two connecting terminals (18A, 18B) and an extraction position in which said recess (13) opens to the exterior of said body (10) for fitting or removal of such a cartridge fuse, and, on the other hand, a disconnection switch (23) which is interposed between two other connecting terminals (24A, 24B) and which is normally open and which is capable of being actuated to a closed position by the fuse holder (11) when said fuse holder (11) is itself in the closed position, characterised in that, to act on the disconnection switch (23), the fuse holder (11) carries an actuating element (33) which is mounted movably on said fuse holder (11) between an extended position in which, in the presence of a cartridge fuse, it is actually capable of actuating the disconnection switch (23) to the closed position, and a retracted position in which, in the absence of such a cartridge fuse, it is unable to actuate said disconnection switch (23) to the closed position.
