1. A pressure fluid cylinder comprising a longitudinally slotted cylinder tube (1) closed at its ends and enclosing a piston (5) provided therein in sealed relationship and for longitudinal displacement, which pistons carries a load transmission element (9) projecting outwardly through the longitudinal slot (3), the longitudinal slot (3) of the cylindrical tube (1) being sealed in the longitudinal direction of the cylinder by a sealing strip which is provided in the interior (2) of the cylinder tube, passes in the zone of the piston underneath the load transmission element (9) and is retained in contact, on both sides of the piston (5), with a sealing face (22, 25) of the cylinder tube wall, and being covered on the outside of the cylinder tube by a flexible cover strip (27) passing in the zone of the load transmission element (9) over or through the latter and being retained on the outer cylinder wall on both sides of the load transmission element (9), characterized in that the sealing strip (18) is held by the cover strip (27) in contact with the associated sealing face (22, 25) on both sides of the piston (5), through coacting releasable connection elements (26, 30) passing through the longitudinal slots (3) and extending over the length of the strip and that the connection elements (26, 30) are continuously released, in response to the longitudinal movement of the piston (5), in front of that end of the piston which faces the diminishing cylinder space (19 or 20) and engaged on the opposite side of the piston.

In einem Druckmittelzylinder mit einem endseitig verschlossenen, längsgeschlitzten Zylinderrohr 1 ist ein Kolben 5 abgedichtet längsverschieblich geführt. Durch einen Längsschlitz 3 in dem Zylinderrohr 1 ragt ein Kraftübertragungselement 10 nach außen, wobei der Längsschlitz 3 des Zylinderrohres 1 beidseitig des Kolbens 5 durch ein im Zylinderrohrinneren angeordnetes und unter dem Kraftübertragungselement 10 hindurchgeführtes sowie in Anlage an der Zylinderrohrinnenwand gehaltenes Dichtband 18 abgedichtet ist. Der Längsschlitz 3 ist ferner von außen durch ein auf der Zylinderrohraußenseite über das Kraftübertragungselement 10 hinweg oder durch dieses hindurchgeführtes biegsames Abdeckband 27 abgedeckt. Um bei geringem Herstellungsaufwand eine einwandfreie Abdichtung der beidseitig des Kolbens 5 liegenden Druckräume zu erreichen, und zwar sowohl im druckfreien wie auch im mit Druck beaufschlagten Zustand, weist das Dichtband 18 und das Abdeckband 27 durch den Längsschlitz 3 hindurchragende und sich über die Bandlänge erstreckende zusammenwirkende Verbindungselemente 26 und 30 auf, die im Bereiche der Druckmittelräume miteinander in Eingriff stehen. In Abhängigkeit von der Längsbewegung des Kolbens 5 werden die Verbindungselemente 26, 30 jeweils fortlaufend auf der einen Kolbenseite voneinander getrennt und auf der anderen Seite miteinander in Eingriff gebracht.
