A hammer having a middle part (2) carried by the hammer handle (1) via an inserting-socket (13), and arranged on opposite sides of its headpieces (3, 4) of softer material, for example, of plastics or rubber, where plugs (6) on the middle part (2) equipped with circumferential undercuts (8) enter with a tight fit into recesses (11, 12) in the headpieces (3, 4), characterized in that the middle part (2), the plugs (6) and the inserting-socket (13) are injection-moulded as one piece of material in a zinc diecasting, the hollow (14) inside the inserting-socket (13) runs on a taper in about as far as the transverse central plane through the middle part (2) and continues directly into an opening (16) which reaches as far as the surface (F) of the middle part (2) and widens in this direction.
