Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0069721A2] The shredder comprises two superposed shredding stages (8, 4) in which four grooved shafts (19, 20, 27, 28) are arranged which bear toothed rings, (21) in the stage (8) and (29) in the stage (4). At each stage, the rings overlap those of the other shaft of the same stage and are offset angularly on their respective shaft in such a way that their teeth define a helical pitch in the same direction as the direction of rotation of the shafts. The lower rings (29) are twice as thin and rotate twice as quickly as the upper rings (21). Application to the shredding of refuse and industrial waste. <IMAGE>
