[origin: US4449492A] An attachment for a heat shield is intended to protect the face of the cylinder head comprising one of the walls of the combustion chamber of the cylinder of an internal combustion engine in which the transfer of gases is controlled by valves having seats inserted into the cylinder head. The inserted seats of the valves are provided with an annular rim which, when the seat is fitted into a bore in the cylinder head, presses against the wall of the cylinder head the heat shield. Application is to insulating the inner walls of a heat engine cylinder head or to creating hot points in the combustion chamber of the cylinder head.

Dispositif de fixation d'un écran thermique destiné notamment à protéger la face de la culasse constituant l'une des parois de la chambre de combustion du cylindre d'un moteur à combustion interne dont le transfert des gaz est contrôlé par des soupapes à siéges rapportés dans la culasse. Les sièges rapportés (5, 6) des soupapes sont dotés d'un rebord annulaire (8) qui au moment de l'emmanchement du siège dans son alésage (3, 4) de la culasse (2) vient plaquer sur la paroi de la culasse (2) l'écran thermique (7). Application à l'isolation des parois internes d'une culasse de moteur thermique ou à la creation de points chauds dans la chambre de combustion de la culasse.
