Abstract (en)
The apparatus comprises a bell-type furnace (1) which, during the entire treatment of a charge (40), rests sealingly on a quenching tank (19). Sliding shutters (16, 17) form a heat shield preventing the furnace from emitting radiation to the quenching bath (42) and protecting the heating chamber (2) of the furnace from pollution by vapours emanating from the quenching bath. These shutters are separated only to allow the charge (40) to pass in one direction or the other. The charging and discharging of the apparatus are effected via a tip-up door (21). An inflatable air chamber (31) in a nitrogen reservoir (30), which communicates with an expansion compartment (27) of the tank (19), causes the level of the quenching bath to rise close to the shutters (16, 17), or allows it to fall below the door (21). <IMAGE>

L'installation de traitement thermique comprend un four-cloche (1) qui, pendant toute la durée du traitement d'une charge (40), repose sur un bac de trempe (19) de façon étanche. Des volets coulissants (16, 17) forment un bouclier thermique empêchant le four de rayonner sur le bain de trempe (42) et protégeant la chambre de chauffe (2) du four de la pollution par les vapeurs émanant du bain de trempe. Ces volets ne sont écartés l'un de l'autre que pour laisser passer la charge (40) dans un sens et dans l'autre. Le chargement et le déchargement de l'installation sont effectués à travers une porte basculante (21). Une chambre à air gonflable (31) dans un réservoir d'azote (30), qui communique avec un compartiment d'expansion (27) du bac (19), fait monter le niveau du bain de trempe au voisinage des volets (16, 17) ou le laisse descendre au-dessous de la porte (21).
