A cutout jib on a cutting machine having a rotating cutting member is constructed such that the cutting member is constructed as a flexible belt and the drive wheel is constructed as a type of vee-belt pulley. By contrast, the drive wheel can also be constructed such that it is configured in the manner of a belt wheel for a toothed belt, that is to say with a cylindrical circumferential surface into which there are let at regular intervals pockets which mesh with corresponding projections on the underside of the belt. The guidance of the belt outside the drive wheel along the cutout jib is performed, to the extent they are present, outside the surfaces of the vee, which are reserved exclusively for driving purposes. <IMAGE>

Ein Schrämarm an einer Schrämmaschine mit einem umlaufenden Schneidkörper ist so ausgebildet, daß der Schneidkörper als flexibler Riemen und das Antriebsrad als eine Art Keilriemenscheibe ausgebildet ist. Abweichend davon kann das Antriebsrad auch so ausgebildet sein, daß es nach Art eines Riemenrades für einen Zahnriemen gestaltet ist, also mit einer zylindrischen Umfangsfläche, in die in regelmäßigen Abständen Taschen eingelassen sind, die mit entsprechenden Vorsprungen auf der Unterseite des Riemens kämmen. Die Führung des Riemens außerhalb des Antriebsrades entlang des Schrämarmes erfolgt außerhalb der Keilflächen, soweit vorhanden, die ausschließlich Antriebszwecken vorbehalten sind.
