Machine for applying wrapping film to a loaded pallet has a reel of film supported on a trolley which travels around the pallet on a course fixed by a guide rail which is engaged by the inboard wheels of the trolley. The trolley axles are splayed to suit the radius of the guide rail track. Used for applying windings of self-adherant stretch film to pallet loads of varying size. The mechanical trolley and its guidance system is simple and reliable to construct and operate. No energy is employed in supporting and turning the loaded pallet, unlike turntable-based wrapping machines.

Pour envelopper une charge palettisée avec un film étirable autocollant, la charge palettisée (PZ) est placée sur le sol, approximativement au centre d'un chemin de guidage circulaire lui aussi posé au sol, de telle sorte que le centre de la charge soit approximativement situé sur l'axe vertical passant par le centre du chemin de guidage, chemin sur lequel se déplace suivant une trajectoire circulaire un chariot actionné par des moteurs et portant une bobine de film étirable. On déroule de celle-ci une certaine quantité de film du fait de la rotation autour de la charge à envelopper. Le chariot est avantageusement guidé dans son mouvement circulaire par un ensemble (AC) qui comprend une base (25) et un rail (26) formés en cercle et qui sont d'une hauteur au-dessus du sol suffisamment faible pour être facilement franchis par un moyen élévateur de type connu.
