[origin: US4471714A] A device for the regulation of the wet application weight of coated webs, the web being supported on its uncoated side by a roll. The device has a stationary, inherently rigid wiping device with a concavely curved long entrance flank so that between web surface and wiping device a sickle-shaped entrance gap is formed. The radius of curvature of the entrance flank of the wiping device is equal to or only slightly greater or smaller than that of the support roll. In order to avoid wear and tear at the edge of the wiping device additional wear elements are provided at the wiping device.

Bei der Erfindung handelt es sich um eine Vorrichtung zur Regulierung des Naßauftragsgewichtes von beschichteten Bahnen, wobei die Bahn (1) auf der unbeschichteten Seite von einer Walze (1) gestützt wird. Sie weist einen feststehenden, in sich starren Abstreifer (5) mit einer konkav gekrümmten langen Einlaufflanke (7) auf, so daß sich zwischen Bahnoberfläche und Abstreifer ein sichelförmiger Einlaufspalt ausbildet. Der Krümmungsradius der Einlaufflanke (7) des Abstreifers (5) ist gleich oder geringfügig größer oder kleiner als der der Stützwalze (2). Um Fehler durch Abriebserscheinungen an der Abstreiferkante zu vermeiden, sind zusätzliche Verschleißelemente (11, 13) am Abstreifer vorgesehen.
