[origin: WO8202933A1] The furnace in which the combustible waste oil having a high content of residues is fired and burned, comprises at its base a combustion bowl (21) open upwardly and a combustion chamber (30) optionally subdivided and located above the bowl. A supply (2, 7, 8) allows the supply of the waste oil in metered quantities towards the bowl (21). Before firing the waste oil, the empty bowl (21) is heated by means of a heat source (23, 28) up to a temperature higher than the inflammation and evaporation temperature. Then, those quantities of waste oil are supplied on the hot bowl. The combustion residues (bituminous slag) may be pyrolysed in the bowl by means of the additional heat source after interruption of the oil supply and the combustion of the oil remainder in the bowl.
