Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0071774A2] Method and device for packaging an object, such as a pizza, in a folding box provided with a tubular interior package made of heat-resistant material. The folding box is preglued along a longitudinal seam and designed as a folding wrapper. Its two end faces are provided with an upper and lower flap respectively, which overlap each other in the closed state. In order to open and keep open the tubular interior package during filling, the two layers of the one end of the interior package are subjected to a pneumatic partial vacuum. This partial vacuum may be applied in various ways, for example by blowing air between the upper layer of the tubular interior package and the upper wall of the folding wrapper, at that end of the package which lies opposite the filling opening. Thus a partial vacuum is then produced at the filling opening. However, it is also possible to allow the partial vacuum to act directly on the two layers of the interior package via appropriate distribution systems. <IMAGE>
