The muzzle gland is equipped with a sealing device consisting of two rings, one stationary (7) and the other movable (9), inserted into the muzzle gland (1) and between them defining a chamber (13), the movable ring (9) being intended to be laid against the barrel (4) or against the front face of the slide (5) during firing as a result of the action of the gases in the chamber (13). <IMAGE>
