[origin: US4625789A] The present invention relates to a double barrier heat exchanger between a radioactive primary fluid and a secondary fluid making it possible to detect a possible primary fluid leak in the exchanger. The primary fluid circulates in a primary duct and the secondary fluid circulates in a secondary duct, a junction matrix being positioned between the primary and secondary ducts and in contact with the latter. The matrix is in the form of a compact metallic mass incorporating at least one element, e.g. silver, which can be made raidoactive when it diffuses into the primary fluid. Application is to sampling circuits in nuclear reactors.

La présente invention a pour objet un échangeur de chaleur à double barrière, entre un fluide primaire radioactif et un fluide secondaire, permettant notamment de détecter une éventuelle fuite de fluide primaire au niveau de l'échangeur. Ce dernier circulant dans une gaine primaire (20) et le fluide secondaire circulant dans une gaine secondaire (22), une matrice de jonction (24) est disposée entre les gaines primaire et secondaire et en contact avec celles-ci, la matrice (24) se présentant sous la forme d'une masse métallique compacte comprenant au moins un élément, par exemple l'argent, susceptible d'être rendu radioactif lorsqu'il diffuse dans le fluide primaire. Application aux circuits de prélèvement des réacteurs nucléaires.
