1. Utilization of solid bodies of spherical shape, consisting of ceramical material and being of a diameter less than 40 mm, for the direct heating of cold, moist coal which is destined for conversion, in a subsequent step, into coke, this heating takes place in a downwards directed moving bed.

Die Erfindung betrifft die Erwärmung kalter, feuchter Kohle, insbesondere von zur nachfolgenden Verkokung bestimmter Kohle. Es ist vorgesehen, daß der Kohle heiße Festkörper, deren Ausgangstemperatur über der angestrebten Endtemperatur der Kohle liegt, beigemischt werden.
