Abstract (en)

A transfer tube (6) is provided to transfer molten metal between a first vessel e.g. a ladle and a second vessel e.g. a foundry mould or gating system therefor at a fast flow rate independent of the operative's control. The tube may be fixed to the underside of the ladle and be releasably connectable to the mould inlet. A filter element may be provided at the mould inlet.
