Am electro-hydraulic proportional valve comprising a variable-force solenoid, i.e. a solenoid the magnetic force of which is controlled by varying the current or the voltage, acting on a valve body (5; 25, 26) disposed in a housing passage between a pressure fluid inlet port (2) and an outlet port (3) for controlling the valve closing force and the stroke thereof, characterized in that between said solenoid (15) and said valve body (5; 25, 26) there is provided a transmission lever (13) acting directly on said valve body of said proportional valve so as to convert a relatively small magnetic force with a relatively long solenoid stroke into a relatively strong closing force with a relatively short stroke of said valve body.
