[origin: DE3112404A1] Large surface lighting apparatus allowing to illuminate and observe opaque objects, for example geographical maps. This apparatus is comprised of a transparent plate (1) which, seen in the direction of its plane, goes thinner and thinner towards its center from the two opposite lateral sides (4, 5) from which light is emitted. Thus, there is obtained a uniform lighting, on all the surface of the plate, of the observed object through this plate.

Appareil d'eclairage de grande surface permettant d'eclairer et d'observer en lumiere des objets opaques, par exemple des cartes geographiques. Cet appareil est constitue d'une plaque transparente (1) qui, vue dans la direction de son plan, va en s'amincissant vers son centre a partir de deux cotes lateraux opposes (4, 5) desquels de la lumiere est emise. Ainsi, on obtient un eclairage uniforme, sur toute la surface de la plaque, de l'objet observe a travers cette plaque.
