In a copying apparatus controlled by means of a digital computer (11-13), at least the adjustment and correction switches (12) of the digital computer, which are to be operated exclusively by a service technician, are arranged underneath an apparatus cover (5) which can only be opened by means of a special tool and which controls a diagnostic switch (16-18). As a result, the selection, occurring by means of a code to be entered at the operating keyboard (2) of the apparatus, of a diagnostic or maintenance program which should not be accessible to the normal user of the apparatus, is only possible when the apparatus cover (5) is opened. When the apparatus cover (5) is closed, the entire operating program of the copying apparatus is automatically set back into its initial state. <IMAGE>

In einem mittels eines Digitalrechners (11-13) gesteuerten Kopiergerät sind zumindest die ausschließlich von einem Servicetechniker zu bedienenden Justage- und Korrekturschalter (12) des Digitalrechners unter einer nur mittels eines besonderen Werkzeuges zu öffnenden Geräteverkleidung (5) angeordnet, welche einen Diagnoseschalter (16-18) steuert. Dadurch ist das mittels eines an der Bedienungstastatur (2) des Gerätes einzugebenden Codes erfolgende Anwählen eines Diagnose- oder Wartungsprogrammes, welches dem normalen Benutzer des Gerätes nicht zugänglich sein soll, nur bei geöffneter Geräteverkleidung (5) möglich. Beim Schließen der Geräteverkleidung (5) wird das gesamte Betriebsprogramm des Kopiergerätes selbsttätig wieder in seinen Ausgangszustand versetzt.
