L'invention a pour objet une nouvelle composition pyrotechnique ternaire et des inflammateurs pyrotechniques mettant en oeuvre cette composition. Un inflammateur pyrotechnique selon l'invention est destiné à commander la mise à feu d'une charge pyrotechnique, par example d'une charge propulsive. Il comporte un ou deux filaments résistants 6 qui sont connectés sur deux 9 conducteurs électriques 2a, 2b de mise à feu. Ces filaments 6 sont placés au contact d'un composition pyrotechnique 7 contenant du nitrate de potassium, du bore et du zirconium finement divisés. Les filaments 6 sont placés au contact d'un support 3 en céramique bonne conductrice thermique. Une application est la télécommande de mise à feu de charges propulsives d'engins aérospaciaux.
