The heat exchanger, especially for an internal combustion engine, is of flat-tube, gilled or plate design and carries air as coolant, there being arranged upstream of the cooling air inlet of the heat exchanger a replaceable trap, which is produced using a material which repels dirt on its surface and has the same lattice structure as the heat exchanger. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Wärmetauscher, insbesondere für eine Brennkraftmaschine, der in Flachrohr-, Lamellen- oder Plattenbauweise ausgeführt ist und von Luft als Kühlmedium durchströmt wird, wobei vor der Kühllufteintrittsseite des Wärmetauschers eine auswechselbare, unter Verwendung eines an seiner Oberfläche schmutzabweisenden Werkstoffes hergestellte Attrappe angeordnet ist, die die gleiche Gitterstruktur wie der Wärmetauscher aufweist.
