[origin: WO8301259A1] The latch needle has a rod, a head and a pivoting tongue in the tongue slot. In order to provide for the perfect closure of the tongue and also to avoid its positioning on the side or under the head of the needle upon the closure motion, after a long utilization of the needle, the tongue spoon (8) is inclined to one side of the rod (1) and with respect to the symmetry plan (10) of the tongue (5) so that the lateral distance (A) from the most remote point (11) of the spoon (8) with respect to said symmetry plan (12) is at the most equal to half the thickness of the rod.

Eine Zungennadel für Maschinen zur Herstellung von Maschenware weist einen Nadelschaft, einen Nadelkopf und eine in einem Zungenschlitz schwenkbar gelagerte Nadelzunge auf. Um zu gewährleisten, dass auch bei langer Gebrauchsdauer die Nadelzunge einwandfrei schliesst und nicht etwa bei der Schliessbewegung neben oder unter den Nadelkopf gelangen kann, ist der Zungenlöffel (8) bezogen auf die Symmetrieebene (10) der Nadelzunge (5) zu einer Seite des Nadelschaftes (1) hin weisend schräggestellt, wobei der seitliche Abstand (A) des äus sersten Punktes (11) des Zungenlöffels (8) von der Nadelsymmetrieebene (12) höchstens gleich der halben Schaftdicke ist.
