[origin: EP0064405A1] Apparatus in the form of a hand-held appliance for grooming hair comprising: means (a) for applying suction to a local portion of the head, means (b) for applying heated air to the said portion and/or to an immediately adjacent portion, the apparatus including an electric motor drivingly connected to an impeller and arranged to enable a small section of hair to be lifted and dried by a suction-induced air current from the inlet of the impeller and by hot air from the outlet of the impeller, characterised in that the suction means (a) comprises a first generally straight duct portion having an inlet nozzle for engaging the hair arranged in a plane generally perpendicular to the direction of air flow, an outlet in communication with the suction side of the impeller, and an airpervious hair blocking means located between the nozzle and the outlet, the heat applying means (b) including a second duct portion, generally co-axial with the first duct section.

Dispositif de coiffure a la main comprenant: un dispositif (a) permettant d'appliquer une aspiration a une partie delimitee de la tete, un dispositif (b) permettant d'appliquer de l'air chauffe a cette partie et/ ou a une partie immediatement adjacente, le dispositif comprenant un moteur electrique entrainant une roue a aubes et concu de maniere a permettre de soulever et de secher une petite partie de cheveux par un courant d'air induit par l'aspiration de l'orifice d'entree de la roue a aubes et par l'air chaud provenant de l'orifice de sortie de la roue a aubes, ce dispositif se caracterisant en ce que l'organe d'aspiration (a) comprend une partie de conduite generalement droite possedant une buse d'entree pour engager les cheveux disposes sur un plan generalement perpendiculaire a la direction de l'ecoulement d'air, un orifice de sortie en communication avec le cote d'aspiration de la roue a aubes et un organe de blocage de cheveux etanche a l'air dispose entre la buse et l'orifice de sortie, l'organe d'application de chaleur (b) comprenant une deuxieme partie de conduite, generalement coaxiale par rapport a la premiere section de conduite.
