Thermal storage heater with a storage core (2), which is surrounded by a thermally insulating layer (1) within a housing, with at least one heating element (6) in a recess (5), which is provided in the storage core (2) and displays an end opening (7), which faces towards the front wall (8) of the housing and displays merely a fraction of the height of the storage core (2), as well as with a closure (5) for the recess, characterised thereby, that the end opening (7) is provided in the lower region of the storage core (2), that the heating element (6) just as the recess (5) is elongate and in longitudinal direction is directed upwardly in an arc through about 90 from the end opening (7), that the heating element (6) displays a terminal end (9), which is matched to the end opening (7) in the storage core (2) and inserted into the end opening (7), that the thermally insulating layer (1) is openable for the passage of the heating element (6) in the region of the end opening (7) and that the wall (8) is removable.
