A cutting chain for a rock-cutting machine, consisting of alternate bit-holders (28, 38) and intermediate members (3) respectively as links of the chain, in which the bit-holder (28, 38) carries a cutter-plate (15, 40) which through a regular contour (30) on the bit-holder (28, 38) is fixed as regards the position about the centreline and is held with the aid of clamping means (32, 41) and exhibits a circular or polygonal peripheral shape, characterized in that as the clamping means a clamping finger (41) made as a bridge is provided, one end of which bears against the front face of the cutterplate (40) and the other end of which bears against an area of a plane parallel with the cutter-plate (40), or a dog (32) is provided which rests by its one endface against the cutter-plate (15) and by its other endface against a bearing area (29) lying opposite the cutterplate (15) and making an angle with the cutter-plate of preferably about 20 , the clamping finger (41) and the dog (32) respectively being tightened by means of a threaded bolt (42, 33).
