[origin: WO8301634A1] Yarn supplier unit added to a textile machine, particularly a striped knitting machine having electric circuit elements and electric actuating elements for each yarn supplier (FU), elements which are in functional connection with a control unit (CU) for a group of common lines. Heretofore, each yarn supplier of one supplier unit (FU) had to be "marked" manually before starting the machine. Furthermore, it was necessary to provide a group of large sized electric lines, since each supplier had to be provided with at least one line of its own. According to the invention, the manual "marking" is unnecessary since, for each supplier (FU) and its corresponding electric actuating and circuit elements, there is associated an electronic switching device comprising a programmable memory. An individual adress may be assigned to a switching device by the control unit (CU), and after assigning the adress, the device may be controlled according to the adress, and in order to connect the suppliers (FU) to the control unit (CU), a group of reduced size lines may be used since the switching devices of all the suppliers are coupled in the same way to the group of lines.
