Abstract (en)

A smoke extraction device comprises a smoke outlet (102) and a fan (103) positioned to draw gaseous and particulate material through the smoke outlet. A spraying device (110) sprays water which cools the fan motor and the impeller, so that it can handle smoke and gas at a high temperature.
