1. A method of making brushes (1) having plastic bristles (5), more particularly hair brushes, or bristle carriers for such brushes, using bristles (5) having a core (7) and an outer layer (8) surrounding the core and having a different colour, characterised in that for the purpose of making thickened top parts (6) integral with the bristles (5) the same are heated at their ends to the softening or melting temperature and then cooled.

Die mit Kunststoffborsten (5) versehenen Borstenträger (4) werden mittels eines Förderbandes (10) unterhalb einer offenen Flamme (12) hindurchgeführt. Dabei werden die Enden der Borsten (5) auf Erweichungs- bzw. Schmelztemperatur gebracht. Dabei bildet sich aus dem Material der Borsten (5) ein im wesentlichen kugelförmiger Kopfteil (6). Da die Borsten (5) auf ihrer Aussenseite eine andere Farbe aufweisen als in ihrem Kern, erhalten die Kopfteile (6) eine andere Farbe als die Borsten (5).
