[origin: EP0079867A1] The washing installation is for materials such as sand and gravel. A feed pipe (7) supplies washing water and there are conveyors (11) for the material (10) and an inclined surface (14) to collect and transport the washed material towards the feed pipe. A set of spaced rotors (1) are spaced from each other, fitted one one shaft (13). Each rotor has several transverse annular diaphragms (2) which define with the rotor side wall, annular channels (3). Each channel has several buckets on its periphery so that the washing water goes towards the diaphragm exterior at the rotor bottom and against the direction of material movement.
