[origin: WO8204186A1] A blank cut of cardboard and a coffin made thereof. The aim has been to obtain a blank which is easy to assemble and to finish into a coffin e.g. in a coffin store, because the transporting of the blanks is remarkably less space-consuming than that of finished coffins. The blank according to the invention is characterized in that it has on the outer margins of the side walls (2) such folding scores (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) by the aid of which is produced a channel with triangular cross section for reinforcement of the edge of the side walls (2) and preferably of the end walls (4). It is a substantial feature of the coffin that for reinforcement of the cardboard there are wood strips in horizontal direction (24) on the outer margins of the ends (4) and a reinforcement strip (22) glued fast to the ceiling of the triangular channel of the side walls, the ends of which have been affixed e.g. by stapling (23) to the ends of the horizontal wood strips (24) of the ends (4). The bottom component and lid of the coffin are formed in the same manner. The coffin may be coveredover with cloth in normal manner.

Flan de carton et cercueil fabrique avec celui-ci. Le but est d'obtenir un flan facile a assembler et a transformer en cercueil, par exemple dans une entreprise de pompes funebres, le transport des flans prenant considerablement moins d'espace que celui des cercueils finis. Le flan selon l'invention est caracterise en ce qu'il possede sur les bords exterieurs des parois laterales (2) des entailles de pliage (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) a l'aide desquelles l'on forme un canal ayant une section triangulaire de renforcement du bord des parois laterales (2) et de preference des parois extremes (4). Une caracteristique essentielle du cercueil consiste en des baguettes de bois de renforcement du carton, placees dans le sens horizontal (24) sur les bords exterieurs des parois extremes (4) ainsi qu'en une baguette de renforcement (22) collee fermement sur le plafond du canal triangulaire des parois laterales, dont les extremites ont ete fixees par exemple par agrafage (23) sur les extremites des baguettes de bois horizontales (24) des parois extremes (4). Le fond et le couvercle du cercueil sont formes de la meme maniere. Le cercueil peut etre recouvert normalement avec un tissu.
