1. Apparatus for horizontal continuous casting of metals or alloys, particularly steels, comprising a stationary cooled sliding mold (3), optional aftercoolers connected downstream thereof, and a strand withdrawal device (5) displaceable into the direction of the longitudinal axis of the strand, characterized in that the strand withdrawal frame (5) is capable of being displaced to a position and can be fixed there in order to adjust any desired constant spacing between the point of the emergence of the strand from the mold (3) or the aftercooler, respectively, and the strand withdrawal device seizing the strand, in particular the pair of drive rollers (5a), and that, if desired, the strand withdrawal device, in particular the driven drive roll of the pair of drive rolls (5a) is adjustable in height transversely to the direction of the strand at the longitudinally displaceable withdrawal frame (5) by which the horizontally guided strand is supported.

Bei einer Anlage zum horizontalen Stranggießen von Metallen oder Legierungen, insbesondere Stählen, mit einer Gleitkokille (3), einem daran anschließenden Nachkühler und einer Strangabzugseinrichtung (5) ist, um den Ort des Angriffes des Strangabzuges jeweils präzise auf das gerade zu vergießende Metall und auf die momentane Querschnittsdimension des Stranges einzustellen, vorgesehen, daß das Strangabzugsgerüst (5) zur Einstellung eines jeweils gewünschten, konstanten Abstandes zwischen dem Ort des Austrittes des Stranges aus der Kokille (3) und dem den Strang erfassenden Strangabzugsorgan, insbesondere Treibrollenpaar (5a), in die entsprechende Position verschiebbar und dort feststellbar ausgebildet ist, und daß gegebenenfalls das Strangabzugsorgan, insbesondere die angetriebene Treibrolle des Treibrollenpaares (5a), am längsverschieblich ausgebildeten Abzugsgerüst (4), auf welcher der horizontal geführte Strang aufliegt, quer zur Strangabzugseinrichtung höhenverstellbar ausgebildet ist.
